Human trafficking is as much of a problem in Southern Ontario as it is around the world. In Canada, primarily youth between the ages of 12 and 25 are affected. It is the third-largest criminal activity after guns and drugs (according to Crime Stoppers). While many organizations are working hard to support these survivors, currently, there are very few options for immediate and safe shelter. Elora House was formed to help the survivors of this horrible crime. The Elora House’s Mission is to provide a safe haven in Guelph/Wellington County area for young individuals identifying as women exploited by sex trafficking. Elora House will provide immediate short-term lodging, food and clothing and support. Our vision is to not only create an empowering and safe community for survivors but a chance for a new life. A space that allows for transformation and restoration; for the hope of a life free from modern slavery.
